About the Pachelbel TrioThe Pachelbel Trio has grown to become one of Newfoundland's premiere string ensembles since its formation in 2000. The group of three strings, two violins and cello, has performed for hundreds of weddings, receptions, and corporate events around the province. Its namesake, composer Johann Pachelbel, was part of the inspiration for the creation of the ensemble. His famous Canon in D is one of the most-heard pieces of music at weddings today.
The Trio comprises members of the professional music community of St. John’s and are regulars on stage with the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra. Individually, they each have extensive training from Canadian universities and diploma programs and share their expertise as teachers and mentors through the Suzuki program, private studios, and other local arts organizations. Their performing experience as a trio is as varied as one could imagine. After recording a CD in 2006, the group traveled to St. Pierre to give a concert there and music from the CD can be heard in Seasons One, Two, and Six of CBC’s Republic of Doyle. |
Thank you very, very much for your contribution to our ceremony. Having string music at our wedding is a dream come true! |
